I was thinking this morning, whilst looking at the sky, how great it is that the artist's brush can, in just a few strokes, beautifully depict cloud forms, the blush of the sunrise, the curve of a flower petal and the branches and leaves of our trees. Then I thought "you crazy fool" of course the brush can. Artists have been gazing at their landscapes for millennia. Of course they will have designed the perfect tool to capture what they see.
Then I had another thought, "what if it's the other way around"? What if our clouds, flowers and trees want to be depicted, endlessly reproduced. What if they yearn to be celebrated, studied and shared. So much so that they have configured themselves into shapes and forms so easily rendered.
I love that thought because the truth is, nature is abundant. The earth is fulsomely generous in myriad ways. Every single thing we need to thrive is here, totally free, offered in blessed Gift from Gaia. Food, air, water, beauty. It's all around you. Scarcity is a myth, competition an unnecessary nonsense. We've constructed those things in the cause of money and power but they are an illusion.
Interwoven and the Squilometre technique is founded on this belief. Why create boundaries and have walls when the landscape offers to be your place? Why cut yourself off from the view? How can you charge other people to share this earth's abundance with you? If your script calls for a sunset then be outside when the sun goes down.
There is another way to reconnect, to celebrate place and this wonderful planet. Another way to be a creative. There is an alternative to competition, capitalism, the struggle for funding and the madness of party politics. It is already happening in a million grassroots ways all over the planet.
So, if you're struggling to BE; finding it hard to balance income generation with creativity or would just like to talk about how that might look, then let's take a walk outside together and chat.
After all everything, including you and I, are Interwoven.
