important news!
Hi wonderful Interwoven Supporters
We have some important news. After eleven years of Squilometre adventures and neighbour‑to‑neighbour magic, Interwoven Productions will be closing as a CIC at the end of March 2026.
We wanted you to hear this directly from us - JoJo Spinks, Tammy Laskey, Paul White, Ellie Sunderland and Anna Fox, the Interwoven Board. This decision comes from a place of gratitude and a desire to share what we’ve learned.
Over more than a decade of resident‑led work one clear lesson stands out. It takes intention and purpose to work alongside the “Quiet Voices” in our communities. It takes a clear methodology to extend the right invitation to them and to animate their ideas rather than engage them in ours.
It’s that learning that became Quiet Voice Methodology and more and more organisations have asked JoJo to teach it. So, after much reflection JoJo has decided to focus on sharing Quiet Voice Methodology (QVM) through online and face-to-face training and consultancy, whilst embracing the opportunity to step into semi-retirement.
This will allow many more community builders, place makers, volunteers and practitioners to learn and use the approach in their own places. It also gives JoJo a little more time for self-care and creative pursuits.
What this means for you
For volunteers
You’ve given so much of your time, your energy, your creativity. You truly are Interwoven.
It’s important for you to know that your Volunteering Agreement with us will end from the date of this communication which also means that Interwoven’s insurance and policies will no longer cover any activity but we encourage you to continue supporting your local groups. They or your Community Builder (www.wellbeingexeter.org.uk/community-builders) will be able to help you find the right support and guidance for ongoing volunteering.
For community groups and residents
Many of the groups we’ve nurtured together are standing firmly on their own two feet. That was always the dream, residents becoming agents of their own change. Please keep going. You don’t need Interwoven to continue weaving.
For organisations and partners
We’ve valued every collaboration over the years. From tiny resident‑led happenings to large‑scale creative programmes, it has been a pleasure to work alongside you.
Quiet Voice Methodology training (https://quietvoicemethodology.uk/) will now be available more widely and JoJo will be delighted to stay connected if it can support your future work.
A moment to look back with pride
Six neighbourhood Squilometres.
Eighteen resident-led projects.
Thousands of neighbour-to-neighbour contacts.
A network of brilliant volunteers.
And a whole lot of community spirit.
Interwoven grew from absolutely nothing into a thriving participatory network because people like you showed up and cared.
Thank you for every shared idea, every front room chat and every bit of magic we’ve created together.
What happens next
This website will stay online as an archive of all this beautiful activity.
However, email addresses ending in @interwovenproductions.com and the various Squilometre email addresses won’t be monitored after the end of March.
If you’d like to stay in touch please use:-
[email protected] to contact JoJo directly or
[email protected] for QVM Training enquiries
JoJo will be continuing as a Quiet Voice Methodology trainer and consultant working with local authorities, health partners and the National Trust and making this work accessible to anyone who wants to use it.
And finally… a huge thank you!!!
Interwoven was never a traditional, top down organisation. It was a communion of goodwill — threads woven together connecting people to people and people to place.
You are a part of that story.
And we salute you.
With love and gratitude,
JoJo, Tammy, Paul, Ellie and Anna
