quiet voice methodology training
Interwoven Productions CIC has been facilitating community-led, activity since early 2015. This activity is conceived of, and devised by, residents themselves and has therefore taken many forms including community star-gazing, heritage trails, wildflower greening, memory walks, family themed-nature trails, ambulatory performance, lantern parades and street parties.
To do this we have had to mindfully address the question
“Who is NOT here?”
By constantly returning to the question of who is currently not participating and why, we have been able to develop a suite of techniques and approaches that we have come to term Quiet Voice Methodology.
Quiet Voice Methodology (QVM) recognises and includes the traditional “Hard to Reach” individuals who experience barriers to participation but also reflects upon our own role in creating the right invitation and conditions that will encourage those who are more actively disengaged. It is a methodology developed and fit for the nuance of 21st century community.

"A perfect amount of information to take in in the time frame. Clear concepts and techniques that we can definitely use in communities, and within our organisation to introduce sociocratic ways of thinking." - East Devon District Council, Housing.
"A very thought provoking session which will undoubtedly help to guide our place based communities approach. The methodology will help us to seek out and listen to those quiet voices and respond to local community activation, working closely with communities in the creation and support of sustainable physical activity opportunities which meet their wants and needs. - Active Devon
"Hugely valuable being able to practically ‘workshop’ places and adapt the learning based on what gets thrown up. There were a lot of takeaways and thought provoking moments for me personally and great to see the team plotting out what they’re going to do next within communities" - Hannah Worth, Director, Active Devon
