SIGN UP HERE TO BECOME AN INTERWOVEN EVENT STEWARD

We have six, ongoing neighbourhood projects currently, five in Exeter and one in Littleham Exmouth. We support residents to create outdoor, place-based projects to bring their community together.
These events have ranged from community star-gazing, to outdoor performance, lantern parades and guided country strolls but they are always joyful, community-building and celebratory. So this is a great way to do a little good in the world, get outdoors and have a some fun too.
The Steward role is one of the easiest Interwoven voluntary roles to sign up to. As they are public outdoor happenings we don’t require you to undertake DBS clearance. We do provide a full health and safety risk assessment though and the recruitment, support and training of our wonderful Stewards is part of that. We do ask for a reference from an organisation you have worked or volunteered for or your University/college and we will give you Induction and Training and a specific Steward’s Briefing at the beginning of each event. There is lots of progression potential for other volunteering roles which will mean that DBS clearance may become necessary but, the great news is that these roles often come with lots of free development opportunity too.
There is a Volunteering Agreement and Role Description so that you know exactly what the expectation is on both sides.
We will publish below an ongoing calendar of community events here so that you can pick and choose, signing up for those that interest you.
UPCOMING DATES FOR 2023 (please note the dates are firm but details may change in the planning)
Burnthouse Lane Squilometre
The History Beneath our Feet - Wynstream School - Friday 8th September 2.00-5.00 p.m.
As part of the British Science Festival we have arranged for there to be a remote sensing archaeology demonstration at the school for children and their families. Children will also be walking up from the Chestnut Nursery to take part.
When the school was re-built in 2005 they found evidence of a Bronze Age ditch and some remarkable artefacts showing use of the site throughout the ages, including some very high quality Tudor artefacts.
A great opportunity to learn about some fascinating local history whilst helping our youngsters connect, in pride with their own historic environment.
